Solana halts for about 17 hours during the Grape IDO

Solana mainnet stopped producing blocks at about 12:12 UTC on September 14, 2021. Bots flooded the network with transactions during the Grape Protocol IDO on Raydium. Validators coordinated a restart at slot 96542804, and the network was back by about 05:30 UTC on September 15. Mints and trading stopped for the whole outage, and a few small projects, including Gem Signs Art and QueenMonkey, posted that day that they were pushing their mints to September 15.
